Transplantation of human embryonic stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hESC-CMs) enhances cardiac function in macaque monkeys with large myocardial infarction. MRI study showed improvement in left ventricular contractile function at one and three months after hESC-CM transplantation and formation of large viable grafts in the infarct area.
